The Archaeology and Development Foundation (ADF) is a British-registered non-religious, non-political, not-for-profit organisation implementing the Phnom Kulen Program since 2008. It is a registered charity in England and Wales. The ADF was set up to better understand the origins of the Khmer Empire and to ensure that the Cambodian people living around the archaeological sites are directly involved in their protection and that their livelihood is improved in the process. With its team of Cambodian and international experts, ADF envisions a Phnom Kulen whose archaeological preservation is integrated with environmental conservation and socio-economic development. Along archaeological research and annual excavations, ADF has an array of activities to improve the life of the local villagers, mostly on education, health, nutrition and sustainable agricultural practices.
